Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Egypt Walkthrough

Egypt is the chapter developers keep using as an example of a 'meta puzzle': one beam of light you conduct through an entire level until it lands where the tomb wants it. If Peru is a valley you search, Egypt is a machine you inhabit.

The original Egyptian run

Classic routing is Temple of Khamoon, Obelisk of Khamoon, then Sanctuary of the Scion — the room that historically completes the artifact. Official screenshots already show Lara at a great golden mirror while a beam cuts the sanctuary air. That matches design director comments: you lead a beam across Egypt, reflecting it until it is in the right place. The region is meant to feel like one interconnected puzzle built to hide and protect something important.

That 'something' is the last fragment of the Scion. Narrative summaries of the original still apply until Crystal Dynamics says otherwise: after combining the first two pieces, Lara tracks the third to Khamoon, recovers it, and loses the completed device to Jacqueline Natla. Egypt is therefore both a puzzle chapter and a robbery chapter.

How to think about the light beam

Do not treat each mirror as a standalone lock. Developers contrast 'mythology versus engineering' here: Egyptians as builders of devices that happen to look like ritual. If a beam dies on a wall, the answer is probably a few rooms away, not a hidden prompt at your feet. The scanner can whisper, but the intended satisfaction is realizing the whole level is one circuit. Read how to solve puzzles for the philosophy, then walk the temple as a power grid.

Traps escalate. Pressure plates can be step one of four in a larger sequence. The team has said they will not paint every lethal tile with a flashing icon. Look at sand, grooves, and statue sightlines the way you looked at water in Peru.

Combat in the desert tombs

Egypt historically mixes wildlife with supernatural guardians as the Scion nears completion. Legacy of Atlantis also adds Natla's mercenaries, who finally have architecture worth camping. Long halls favor the assault rifle's 25-meter role; tight sanctums favor the shotgun. If a pack of animals still hunts you among columns, keep Focus charges for the moment a lunge and a sniper laser happen together. The combat hub explains why the game refuses to be a cover shooter even when cover exists.

Leaving Egypt

When the Sanctuary falls, the story stops being an archaeology trip. Natla takes the completed Scion and the expedition turns toward a Mediterranean island that is not on tourist maps. That is the Atlantis walkthrough. If you still need earlier routing, the Greece walkthrough and Peru walkthrough sit behind you on the same spine, collected in the walkthrough hub.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Egypt meta puzzle? +

Developers describe a beam of light you reflect throughout the level until it reaches the correct target. Treat the region as one machine, not a list of disconnected rooms.

Is the Temple of Khamoon in the remake? +

Official screenshots and naming point to Khamoon architecture and a mirror puzzle. Exact room order is not fully published.

Does Egypt complete the Scion? +

In the original story, yes — and Natla seizes it. Legacy of Atlantis has not contradicted that hinge.

Should I raise puzzle assistance here? +

If you stall for more than a couple of honest searches, yes. The designers said they never want 'stuckness,' and Egypt is the easiest place to get it.
